What is Verzzo?

Verzzo is the Ignition Group instance of Microsoft’s Azure AD B2C, a custom identity access management (CIAM) solution.

With around 60 products in our portfolio, many of them a combination between Group-hosted and white-labelled-service-provider-developed websites and mobile applications, management of usernames and passwords became quite complicated. Especially considering the workflows and governance regulations like POPIA and GDPR.

With the above in mind, we have decided to use our own instance of Azure AD B2C, named Verzzo to accommodate for users identity management.

One Ignition customer can potentially have multiple products, and should sign in-to them using a single Verzzo account.

One of the biggest reasons for choosing a standard authentication provider, is to manage the sign-in process across different product domains. We may have developed a sales channel workflow in Silver Surfer, while the third-party service provider created the mobile application without any shared data sets. Managing user profiles across different applications requires a separate, stand-alone authentication provider. For this reason, we created Verzzo.

Quick start

If you want to simply connect to a current instance - Get started with some of the Sample Code here

Alternatively - if you want to create a new instance or product - Continue below.

Verzzo is the existing CIAM solution with user profiles across many of our products. It is already in place, so a new set-up of Verzzo is not required. The same goes for the development & testing environment.

The steps required to add a new application instance are outlined into two main sections:

  1. New app registration
  2. User flows / policies

Before we get to the registration, let’s talk about Environments first.
